ColorsNW's Sixth Anniversary Celebration
Wow! The premier multicultural concert of the year in Seattle -- on April 7, 2007 at the Experience Music Project. The event featured live music from some of the best local musicians of color (and some who flew in from far away....) With performers ranging in genre from soul to hip hop, classical, Latin, blues and more, the music was diverse and exciting. If you ever have the opportunity don't miss the chance to hear these fabulous groups: Komplex Kai, Correo Aereo, Young Eight, George & the MCs, Forgotten Sol and Blue Scholars. The event also included the presentation of the Maya Loren Award to Magdaleno Rose-Avila, outgoing executive director of the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project.
