Judge John C. Coughenour Endowed Award in Trial Advocacy

On Thursday, May 24, 2007 the University of Washington Law School and the Trial Advocacy Program celebrated the establishment of the Judge John C. Coughenour Endowed Award in Trial Advocacy.

The Coughenour Award was presented to the Best Oral Advocate following a mock trial competition, presided over by Judge Coughenour, held in the Magnuson Jackson Trial Courtroom. The four finalists were Trial Advocacy 2 students Rachel Cormier Anderson, Ben Carr, Karama Hawkins, and Adrian Madrone. After the mock trial competition, the law school hosted a reception to officially present the award to the Best Oral Advocate and to celebrate the award established in honor of Judge Coughenour by friends, colleagues, former clerks and family as he transitions into senior status.
