Magdaleno's WRITE-tirement 2010
Long ago Leno spent his retirement money to raise funds to create and support a bi-national organization working with at-risk youth, Homies Unidos. Now after a long and dedicated social justice career he will enter semi-retirement, continuing to work for justice but focusing attention on two books that he is writing.
On Sunday September 12, 2010 at the New Holly Community Center in Seattle, 175 friends and community activists come together to recognize Leno Rose-Avila. There was great energy in the hall with talking, dancing, sharing and as Aviva Rose-Avila observed, it became a revival and a call to action. Thanks to all who joined and especially thanks to all who work side by side with Leno and others for social justice.
