Martin Luther King Day 2012
Seattle's annual Martin Luther King Day celebration, January 16, 2012. Sponsored by the MLK Seattle Celebration Committee, this 30th annual event included workshops and a rally at Garfield High School followed by a march to the Federal Building and then a communal meal back at Garfield High. This year's theme was "Recapturing MLK Jr.'s Revolutionary Spirit."
Seattle has one of the largest annual Martin Luther King Day Celebrations in the U.S. We honor Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., for his work toward racial equality and economic justice for all people, for his commitment to nonviolence, and for his stand against war and militarism.
