Poetry Plus Motion: October 2011
Poetry+Motion's third public performance on October, 2011 at Town Hall
What is Poetry+Motion? It Is the presentation of original poetry, written and read by local poets and translated into movement by local dancers. The first Poetry+Motion was produced by Writer/Poet Lola Peters and Suzanne Simmons (Danceable Planet) in October 2010. The second, themed "A Celebration of All Those We Love," was produced in partnership with The Hansberry Project at ACT Theater and held in the Bullitt Cabaret Theatre on February 13, 2011.
Freedom! can be interpreted as personal, political, financial, religious, regional, or any kind of freedom. For this performance dancers presented new work inspired by local writers' original poems. Each dancer will brought his or her inspiring interpretation of each poet's prose to the performance as the writer read their original work. A fabulous combination of art and creativity!
