Winterfest Winter Solstice at Seattle Center, 17 December 2006
At the Seattle Center's International Fountain, performers from NW Conclave, Spinergy Arts & Cirque De Flambe brought "Orbis: a Story of Winter" to the Seattle Center complete with fire, dance and music. The Solstice celebration recognizes the point in the seasons when the Earth's axis tilts farthest from the sun resulting in the shortest day of the year. After Solstice the Earth tilts closer to the sun and days become longer as the earth prepares for re-birth. This performance is an annual event of the Seattle Center Winterfest. All photos are up; enjoy.
